Stand with Indigenous people in protesting the toxic pipeline across their lands.
Chase Bank has again been identified as the #1 worst bank for its Earth-destroying investments. Please join us at a Global Day of Action to tell Chase Bank to defund the Enbridge Line 3 tar sands pipeline. Support Indigenous people who are asking for our help in protecting their lands and waterways. As The Guardian says, It’s cultural genocide.
WHAT: Protest Chase Bank and demand they defund Line 3
WHERE: Chase Bank branch at 3509 Commercial St SE, Salem (corner of Madrona)
WHEN: Friday, May 7 from 3:30 – 5:30 p.m.
- All CDC recommended Covid precautions will be followed.
Line 3 is an ecological disaster to come. Construction activities being rushed through are already putting others at risk, and Minnesota police are well funded by Enbridge to use militarized methods against protesters in the months ahead.
Stand with Indigenous Water Protectors and allies fighting the Enbridge Line 3 tar sands pipeline that passes through indigenous lands and waterways in Minnesota. They are taking direct action to stop the construction of this toxic, climate-destroying project, locking themselves inside sections of pipe, blockading entrances to construction sites, even using pianos to stop construction. Hundreds have been arrested in recent months.
Indigenous people are asking for our help to take action at branches of the banks funding this toxic pipeline.
Major banks ― such as JP Morgan Chase, Wells Fargo, Bank of America, CitiBank and TD Bank ― have loaned billions of dollars to Enbridge so that it can build Line 3. Those banks are profiting from the Line 3 pipeline. They are enabling the pipeline. And they will be held accountable.
